The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will submit a proposal to the government to triple the benefit for the birth of the second child from July 1, 2018 to 150,000 drams instead of 50,000 drams. The Minister informed about this on his Facebook page.

"Demographic problems and a high level of poverty are among the top priorities of the government's social sector, where there are many issues. Understanding that all problems cannot be solved at once and quickly, the ministry will do its best to record even little changes within the available resources. In this connection, I am going to present a proposal to the Government to amend the Government Decree "On determining and paying procedure of the amount of single-time benefit for a child," the Minister said.

Mane Tandilyan noted that the size of existing benefits is far from being enough, but this change can be made within the approved state budget in 2017. "The mentioned change will not have a significant impact on the state budget. In the near future there will be given a more comprehensive and effective solution to this question," he added.
