During the 18th annual conference of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), Alexander Yesayan was re-elected president of UITE.

This is Aleksandr Yesayan's fourth consecutive election in the post of the UITE chairman. No other candidate has been nominated, the members of the Congress unanimously voted for him. UITE members appreciated his work during the past three years and decided to give Alexander Yesayan the opportunity to continue the work on holding the World Conference on Information Technology (WCIT) in Armenia in 2019.

Till 2015 the founder of "Pixart" Hovhannes Avoyan had been leading UITE for many years.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan also attended the opening of the UITE 18th congress, assuring that the sphere had full support of the government.
