The price of gasoline in Armenia will continue to grow, although no new sharp growth is expected. In the past month petrol prices grew by 6-8% on average, 480 drams per liter for A95.

According to Russian media, petrol prices in Russia increased by 88-90 kopecks on May 21-27. At the same time, the price of gasoline AI92 increased by 90 kopecks, up to 42.21 rubles per liter, and the price of AI95 - by 88.55 kopecks - up to 45.5 rubles. That is, the price rose only by 1.5-2%.

According to ArmRating's economic experts, the rise in prices will be conditioned not only by the growth in Russia, but also with the fact that petrol supply to Armenia is not geographically diversified and is supplied exclusively from one country by the company "Rosneft", which is an operator due to intergovernmental agreement from 2013. This year, Rosneft has supplied Armenia with 210,000 tons of oil products, totaling $ 175 million.

Moreover, price growth is conditioned by another important factor: monopolies in the domestic market or informal quotas that are "distributed" between the two major intermediary oil-trader companies - monopolists.
