The program of the upgrading of Yerevan TPP's operating unit has been launched, which will take about a month and a half. Renovation works aimed at increasing the efficiency and reliability of the power unit will be carried out by the well-known American company General Electric. The cost of the project is 18.8 mln euro.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the project envisages reconstruction of gas turbine, including air compressor of MXL-2 class. As a result, the capacity of the plant will increase by about 7 MW from 220 to 227 MW, the specific fuel consumption will drop from 258.1 psi / kWh to 252.8 psi / kWh, the power unit will be upgraded. Electricity supply will increase by 1% to 59.5 mln. kWh.

After the technical upgrading, the periodicity of the capital repairs will be extended for 2 years, from 4 to 6 years, which will contribute to the increase in the period of continuous operation of the power unit.
