The number of plastic cards in Armenia in the first half of this year increased by 16% to 1,851 million units. The volume of plastic transactions growth accelerated from 7.2% to 23%, amounting to more than 863.5 billion drams.

According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the number of local ArCa cards increased by 12.3% to 599.4 thousand units in a year, while Visa and MasterCard international cards accounted for 19% and 17.3%, respectively, up to 685.2 thousand and 522.8 thousand units. While other cards registered a 3.2% fall (mainly HSBC cards, as well as AmEx and Diners Club) and made 43.6 thousand.
