Hong Wei, Deputy Director General of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), accompanied by representatives of the Bank and the Transport Program Organization SNCO, visited the North-South Road Corridor Tranche-3 sector.

According to the Transportation Program Organization SNCO, Hong Wei met with representatives of the Tranche-3 contractor, Synohydro Corporation and the Italian joint venture, Spea Injenera Europe and IRD Ingeneering Consortium .

Vazgen Petrosyan, Acting Director General of Transport Programs Implementation SNCO, presented the ADB Deputy Director General the current construction works at Tranche-3. He noted that there are certain organizational issues in the road construction financed by the Asian Development Bank, but the builders gradually solve them, and the increase in the volume of works has been noticeable over the past two months. He also noted that some changes need to be made to advance the program. Mr. Petrosyan noticed that the Tranche-3 builders, the Organization of Transportation Programs and the company carrying out the technical supervision of the construction sector, closely cooperate so that the existing problems will be eliminated in time and the works will go further.

Vache Minasyan, head of the construction supervision organization, noted that the main problems that the construction faces are the quality and timing. According to him, during the meetings with the contractor organization it is always stressed that the works should be carried out at a rapid pace, at the same time with high quality.

ADB Deputy Director General Hong Wei noted that North-South Road Corridor is a very important project for Armenia. The number one issue is the quality of this program and joint efforts should be continued to achieve good results.
