In the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) may appear its own currency. This proposal was made by the National Payment Council.
According to Alma Obaev, the chairman of the board of the organization, the new currency is supposed to be used only within the framework of interstate trade. In addition, new money will be exclusively electronic.
The exchange rate of the new currency will depend on the exchange rate of the national currencies of the EAEU member countries.
According to Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev, the new currency will resemble the European ECU, which preceded the euro.
