
The 24th session of the Customs Union Customs Services Unified Board was held in Yerevan on September 27-28, with the participation of customs services of Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as well as the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Vardan Harutyunyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, praised the steps taken to deepen cooperation and enhance the efficiency of customs services of partner countries. "With the joint efforts of customs services we can achieve the competitiveness of national economies and create conditions for sustainable development for the welfare of the member countries," he said.
Vardan Harutyunyan attached importance to the high level of mutual understanding and cooperation formed between the Customs Services of the member states of the EEU, which allows for more responsive and effective and mutually acceptable solution to emerging issues.
The council discussed the proposals and projects of the Customs Services of the member states of the EEU, clarified the separate directions of the activity, summed up the course of the decisions of the previous session and outlined the tasks for 2018.
Particularly discussed issues related to import customs clearance of goods, customs clearance technical regulation and introduction of unified mechanisms. The sides also touched upon the issues related to the regular exchange of operative data on the situation at the EEU borders, the subsequent changes in the Declaration on the Classification of Goods in Foreign Economic Activity (FTA) / Goods Classification, and the functions carried out by the customs authorities over the transitory cargo transported through the single customs territory of the EEU.
The session decided to hold the next 25th session of the Customs Union Commonwealth of Independent States Customs Service in the Kyrgyz Republic.
