Turkish President Rejep Tayip Erdogan said that his country is no longer going to use the International Monetary Fund loans.

"We have closed the IMF loan page so that we will never open again," Erdogan said, addressing the activists of the ruling “Justice and Development” Party in Kızıljahamam region.

Erdogan made this statement in the background of recent tension in relations with Washington, one of the reasons of which is the arrest of American priest Andrew Branson.

Let us remind you that the US has imposed sanctions on Turkish Justice Minister Abdullakhmat Gul and Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu, accusing them of "serious human rights violations".
