The US government has appealed to key allies around the world to stop using the equipment of the Chinese telecommunications company Huawei, which Washington suspects of spying, reports The Wall Street Journal.

It is reported that representatives of the administration of the US President Donald Trump informed about their suspicions of colleagues in the allied countries, as well as providers of wireless and Internet services, in particular, in Germany, Italy and Japan.

The United States is particularly concerned about the use of Huawei technology in countries with a United States military presence, the newspaper said.

According to publisher's informed sources, Washington considers compensation to provide financial assistance to those countries that refuse to use Huawei equipment.

Earlier this year, American intelligence officers warned Americans about buying phones manufactured by Huawei and ZTE, as well as another Chinese company.

It is noted that US lawmakers have long been concerned about the "suspicious links" of these companies with the Chinese government.
