In November, individuals removed 52 billion rubles from bank accounts, and the total amount of funds held in financial institutions fell by 0.2 percent, according to Finanz, citing the Central Bank of Russia.
Natalya Orlova, chief economist at Alfa-Bank, believes that inflation concerns have forced the population to reduce their banking assets in rubles. In addition, the expert suggests that the Russians continue to spend their savings.
Earlier, the media reported that the largest Russian banks, fearing a continuation of the outflow of resources and the introduction of new international sanctions, decided to increase the interest of citizens in dollar deposits by raising interest rates.
The outflow of capital from Russia in January-August of the current year increased by 2.8 times and amounted to $ 26.5 billion in the eight months of 2018.
