Former vice-president of Sberbank Oleg Smirnov became a member of the board of VTB, reports TASS the statement of the bank.

The VTB explained that Smirnov will take office from the date of approval of his candidacy by the Central Bank of Russia.

"Oleg Smirnov will work under the leadership of the Vice President - Chairman of the Board of VTB Anatoly Pechatnikov. Within the retail business, he will be responsible for the following areas: retail digital business, sales in remote channels and bank branch networks, car loans, mortgages, and retail business development in affiliated companies," said the bank.

According to VTB, this appointment will contribute to the development of the bank’s retail business. Since 2013, Smirnov worked as a vice president of Sberbank, in November 2018, he went to work at VTB.
