One of the largest financial groups, HSBC, reported that a total of $ 250 billion was transferred via the blockchain over the last year, reports the Financial Times.

According to a British bank spokesman, the company conducted a total of 3 million foreign exchange transactions and 150,000 payments through the HSBC FX Everywhere platform.

The company clarified that the platform was used throughout the year for “internal payments”.

Among the amenities of the blockchain for the financial market, HSBC particularly noted the "lack of the need to confirm transactions from the outside."

“After successfully introducing the technology in our bank, we hope to use it with international clients to coordinate their cash flows related to foreign currency exchange,” said HSBC spokesman Richard Bibby.
