The EU Council imposed sanctions against Russia under the new regime of restrictive measures against the use and distribution of chemical weapons.

It is noted that nine individuals and one organization were included in the list.

It isclarified that the sanctions were imposed on two employees of the Main Department of Russian Intelligence Service, as well as the head of the service and his deputy.

The report states that they are responsible for the storage, transportation and use of a poisonous nerve agent on 4 March 2018 in Salisbury.

“The sanctions include a travel ban in the EU and the freezing of assets for individuals, as well as the freezing of assets for legal entities,” says the EU website.
